Our Story

Barra Jacks was founded in 1996 around the kitchen table of Geoff & Jenny Clarke in Rockhampton QLD. The name Barra Jacks was taken from the two iconic species in the area Barramundi and Mangrove Jacks.This second generation fishing tackle business has since expanded 600 kilometers south with a second store on the sunshine coast. The staff in both stores are all passionate and keen anglers with many years of experience to help you choose the right gear. Both shops are well stocked with a comprehensive range of lures, rods, reels and terminal tackle including many hard to find brands to help you catch more fish. Chuck-em-back Barra Jacks is our conservation motto.

Steven Pill or Pilly as he's locally known is a Rockhampton Barra fishing identityu and has managed our Rockhampton store for 25 years. The Sunshine Coast store is managed by our son James who has worked in our business all his working life. We hope that our attention to detail and prompt service will make Barra Jacks your go-to store.
